Earlier this summer Angel Olsen released her new album ‘Big Time’ on Jagjaguwar, one of the year’s most acclaimed releases. Today, Olsen returns alongside legendary contemporary songwriting pioneer Sturgill Simpson to present a new, collaborative version of Olsen’s title-track, ‘Big Time’. Both admirers of one another, Simpson and Olsen first connected around the release of Olsen’s lauded 2016 album MY WOMAN, and today’s release sees a years-long conversation brought to fruition.

“It’s crazy to write a song and then watch someone else you really admire sing your words, kinda turns the whole thing on its head”, Olsen says. “I loved the song already but hearing Sturgill’s take on ‘Big Time’ made me smile ear to ear, he made it come alive on a different level.”

Following the release of Big Time, Olsen received glowing reviews as well as features including a Loud and Quiet cover and more, performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! and and embarked on the Wild Hearts Tour alongside Sharon Van Etten and Julien Baker. This autumn, Olsen will tour the EU and UK with support from Tomberlin, this includes a show at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton on 18 October. Full dates are listed below and tickets are on sale now.
