Having announced her third studio album MY WOMAN – out 2nd September 2016 via Jagjaguwar – with the stunning trailer for ‘Intern‘ (“Olsen moves her elastic voice in amazing ways,” Best New Track – Pitchfork), Angel Olsen has today shared the video for new single ‘Shut Up Kiss Me’. Directed by Olsen herself, the video encapsulates everything that’s captivating about Olsen in 2016 – fiery, yet beguilingly playful.

Appearing on MY WOMAN‘s A-side with the album’s other punchier numbers, and carried by Olsen’s disarming, timeless voice, ‘Shut Up Kiss Me’ is her most direct song to date – its immediacy stacked with dynamics in delivery, boldness and range. The song’s nervy grunge quality belies a subtle desperation, as befits any song about the exhaustion point of an impassioned argument. The single was co-produced by Olsen and Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreira, Santigold) and features Olsen (vocals, rhythm guitar) alongside her regular band of Stewart Bonaugh (lead guitar, piano), Emily Elhaj (bass guitar), and Joshua Jaeger (drums), plus guest Seth Kauffman(second guitar).
