Throughout Cass McCombs’ decade-plus career, he’s proven to be one of the premier songwriters of our time through his diverse, cryptic and refreshingly rebellious lyrics. Mangy Love, however – out 26th August via ANTI- – is McCombs at his most blunt; tackling sociopolitical issues through his uniquely cracked lens of wit and singular insight. With a common thread of opposition sewing the album together, the severity of his lyrics is contrasted by the music, which ventures into groovy realms of Philly soul, Norcal psychedelia and New York paranoia.

After previously sharing the singles ‘Opposite House‘ and ‘Run Sister Run‘, McCombs now shares with the world Mangy Love’s powerful third single, ‘Medusa’s Outhouse‘. Through the song’s rich imagery, McCombs doesn’t claim to have a solution, but merely wants to forget.
