Secretly Canadian is proud to announce that Santa Monica-based Cayucas has signed to the label. The band will release a 7″ single of ‘Cayucos’ on 3 December with a full-length debut album to follow in 2013.

As Cayucas, band leader Zach Yudin has created a sound steeped in his sunny California roots, each track a perfectly crafted pop zinger. Nolan Wilson Goff directed the Wes Anderson indebted clip. He points out, “Cayucos has an awesome, summer sun vibe. It’s a nice golden tan, not a sunburn.” The clip he created stars band leader Zach Yudin (Sea Captain) and his twin brother/band member Ben Yudin (Straw Hat) alongside actors Perry Mattfeld, Garrett Bales, and Sam Livingstone. The video was shot on location at Corona Del Mar Beach and in scenic Whittier, CA. As Goff says, “The video has some fun characters and is a throwback to the timelessness of the beach and the people you share such a fond place with.”
