Having previously announced his new album Pigeonheart – out 29th July 2016 through his own Octaves / Outset Recordings – with the lead single ‘War Machine‘, DM Stith has today shared another new track from the record, ‘Sawtooth’.

Initially premiered via The Quietus, ‘Sawtooth’ is another example of Stith’s newly rejuvenated self, embodying not only a stepped up sense of pace but also brilliantly eclectic electronics thanks to the analogue synths provided by Pigeonheart producer Ben Hillier (Nadine Shah, Blur).

Of the track, Stith says: “A lot of the songs on Pigeonheart start with or contain a list of questions. “What would I do with your love right now?”, “How could this day go wrong?” I suppose I’m asking myself as much as anyone through these songs. The songwriting part of me is willing to expose insecurities my social parts aren’t. I think, in this way, I’m seeking a sense of unification – first within myself and then with the world, and ‘Sawtooth’ is one of these internal dialogues.”

During the intervening years since his debut album Heavy Ghost, Stith toured the United States and Europe on his own opening for Julia Holter and Yann Tiersen, was a part of Sufjan Stevens‘ Age of Adz live band and also a front man to the collaborative project The Revival Hour.
