Sam Shepherd – aka Floating Points – will soon be releasing the Kuiper EP, his first new material since last year’s standout debut Eleania, via his own label Pluto.
Having previously shared the EP’s title track, ‘For Marmish Part II‘ makes up the EP’s b-side. Shepherd says: “’It was recorded way before ‘For Marmish’ on the LP, but the two tracks happened to be written around the same time.”
Speaking about the EP as a whole, he says: “I want to share this music because both sides reflect in two tracks where I was right at the start of the Elaenia project, right up to now – post LP release, playing live and going on the road with a band. I hope – like I feel – people will find a common strand in the hypnotic nature of both tracks.”
Floating Points’ Kuiper EP will be released 5 August 2016 via Pluto. Pre-orders for the 12″ are available here.
Lead track ‘Kuiper’ is available to download / stream now via iTunes and Spotify.
‘For Marmish Part II’ will be available 5th August via iTunes and Spotify.
Elaenia is out now on LP, CD and digital download and can be purchased from the Floating Points store. It can also be purchased from iTunes or streamed via Spotify.
