Junior Boys‘ Big Black Coat – their first album in five years and also their first for City Slang – will be released this week, Friday 5 February. To celebrate, the duo have shared a video for recent single ‘Over It‘, and are now streaming the record in its entirety.

Directed by Lee Skinner, it’s a testament to their hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. The video stars Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus along withMartin Verrel, a person Greenspan says “embodies the creative spirit of our hometown.”

Approaching Big Black Coat with renewed vigour is what encouraged Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus to experiment with vocal treatments, as the former does on the idiosyncratically auto-tuned ‘Over It’ – a song that’s a sharp and indelibly catchy example of their rediscovered pop prowess.

Junior Boys will be touring the EU with Jessy Lanza – whose new single ‘It Means I Love You’ was produced by Greenspan – starting next month. Those who pre-order Big Black Coat from Bandcamp or iTunes will receive ‘Over It‘ and ‘Big Black Coat‘ instantly.
