Leon Vynehall‘s new album Rare, Forever will be released on 30 April via Ninja Tune. Today he has dropped a very limited edition black label test pressing – signed, numbered and screen printed by Vynehall himself. Only 50 copies will be available worldwide via select record stores as listed below (strictly one per customer, on a first come first serve basis) and through Vynehall’s own store. Copies available online will be added today and throughout the week, announced via Vynehall’s social media as they go on sale.
Vynehall has already shared a number of tracks from Rare, Forever: ‘Mothra‘ – which was featured on the BBC 6 Music B List -, ‘Ecce! Ego!‘ and ‘Snakeskin ∞ Has-Been‘ and ‘An Exhale‘. He has also today announced a UK/EU tour in addition to his headline show at London‘s Heaven on 24 November.
After bringing euphoria to dancefloors all over the world with the humid house of Rojus (Designed To Dance) and Music For The Uninvited, Leon Vynehall took a sharp left turn with debut album Nothing Is Still — a masterclass in subverting expectations. On Rare, Forever Vynehall is showcasing all the strings to his bow – creating music that’s borderless and unbound. The album sees Vynehall for the first time investigating who he is as a person and artist in the very moment, rather than looking to the past to discover what and who has shaped him. The result contains multiple sides to him, but variety in his art is something Vynehall is used to. On Rare, Forever, he’s taking a victory lap. The album is a beautiful marriage of everything he’s done so far while remaining genuinely progressive; the end result sounding like Nothing Is Still but with the narrative toned down, and the dancefloor dialled up.
