Luke Abbott announces new track “Free Migration” and adds new London dates

Gearing up for the release of his second album Wysing Forest, due on 23 June via Border Community, Luke Abbott has revealed new track ‘Free Migration’. The follow up to the immersive first album cut ‘Amphis’, ‘Free Migration’ forms the subtle peak that marks the mid-point of new record – it’s bubbling synths and quickening pace make for a quietly exhilarating trip.

‘Free Migration’ accompanies the news that, having sold out his headline St. Pancras show for 26 June, Luke has two very special new London dates set for 11 and 12 November at Cafe Oto and the Vortex Jazz Clubrespectively, with a wide array of supporting artists.

The first Luke Abbott curated show will take place at Cafe Oto on 11 November with support from Ann Arbor, Michigan electronic artist Karen Gwyer, who has been amassing a huge amount of attention and acclaim following her releases on the No Pain In Pop label. Opening the show is Norfolk performer and composer Laura Cannell, a self-taught fiddle and recorder player who performs a range of improvised, ancient and experimental music.

Appearing at the Vortex Jazz Club on 12 November will be saxophonist Jack Wylie of Portico Quartet. As well as his work with the Mercury Prize-nominated group, Jack has been working on a series of additional projects, including a forthcoming EP on Lex Records, plus a collaboration with Luke Abbott this summer. Another guest will be announced for the Vortex show soon.
