9-piece South-London-based collective PARADE have today announced their second mixtape Catchphrase, the follow up to their celebrated 2025 debut Lightning hit the Trees, will be released on 26 November via Appointment 1. Along with the announcement they have also shared the video for Robert Altman-inspired lead single ‘I Shot Him’ as well as ‘Foxtrot’.
PARADE at its core remains unchanged from Lightning hit the Trees. A revolving cast of musicians dropping in and out of extended sessions, ideas often formed in the moment, beats flipped into live instrumentation.
Internally though, PARADE is evolving. On Catchphrase bonds are strengthened. Peripheral contributors become permanent members. Silent members open their mouths. Voices find their counterpoint and gravitate across the project. Regular duets within the wider collective. All members singing as one. These developments all serve an undeniable wider group chemistry and a unified sound across the project.
Where Lightning hit the Trees served as something of an introduction to the expansive cast of characters that make up PARADE, Catchphrase is a deeper look at their inner worlds. Owen and Fiorella sing together often. Yottie and Owen. Yottie and Fiorella. Fiorella and Louis’ harmonies laying a bed across the project. Producer, engineer, and instrumentalist Callum’s vocals are heard for the first time. Isaac finds more space for freedom and arrangement. Cellist and improviser Noah drifts into a permanent role. Toby, while in New York working as an artist, moves into a creative role from afar.
PARADE also evolves technically. Rough sketches formed from sessions in the Forest Hill shipping container where Lightning hit the Trees was made are marched east to 160 DL studios for a residency with engineer Lucas Mendes. The group’s first time in a proper studio, though bringing with them some of the trusty broken equipment that shaped their sound, sometimes playing the guitar using the drawstring of a hoody can’t be upgraded. Differing to most cases of a more professional upgrade, this led to a looser approach. Where the small and technically limited shipping container space operated more as a drop-in with a rotating cast, the studio allowed for all members to be present and plugged in at all times. PARADE being PARADE though, the recording spilled out of the studio and into the event space next door, operating as a reverb chamber and a space for creating the naturalistic and experimental sound of the project as a whole.
Lightning hit the Trees was made in two weeks.
Catchphrase – bigger, more defined, and refined. A production leap – was made in one.

PARADE is:
Callum: Engineer producer and songwriter, has worked with Pa Salieu + Felix Joseph.
Fiorella: British-Italian singer + songwriter. Met the group and started recording over their beats during college then has moved to establish her own music identity, tapping into classical narratives and romanticism.
Isaac: Saxophonist improviser and composer, part of trio Flur (Miriam Adefris + Dillon Harrison) part of Wonder Cure duo with Owen and Wetroom (Opal Tapes) and he’s in CLAY FOOT. Isaac joined the group when they overheard him playing in the flat downstairs in London and invited him up.
Jago: Fashion Designer for S.S. Daley, Meryll Rogge. Started his own fashion label called Utterances. Music producer specialising in warped synth heavy guitar music and hip hop beats. Son of Alice Fox of the Marine Girls.
Louie: Singer, guitarist, songwriter + producer – personal vocal themes. Cinematic style, glitchy electronics to alt rock. Released his debut Chiron EP under the recorded name Sulker. The band met Louie when they moved to London.
Noah: Cellist and improviser, met him in high school in Brighton. Plays in Wonder Cure and contemporary classical band, Camberwell Group.
Owen: Guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, composer and producer, part of Wonder Cure and CLAY FOOT. Met Jago at nursery school and played in bands together since they were 8 years old.
Toby aka CATO: Painter and animator exhibited his work at Saatchi-Yates, Eric Firestone Gallery (New York), The La Brea Studio (Los Angeles), Sim Smith (London). His work blends collage and painting creating surreal street scenes. Bass player and lyricist, Formed a band CLAY FOOT, atonal punk outfit with Owen, Isaac, Jago, Oli Ballantyne and Ben Grose.
Yottie: British-Greek musician, producer, sound artist and painter, released an album Casino on Appointment 1. BBC6 featured ‘Artist of the Week’ and invited for a guest mix. Brings spoken word style of vocals and warped production to the group project.

Christos: Experimental trumpet player and improviser – plays in Pa Salieu’s band.
Ben Grose: Drummer in CLAY FOOT and Wonder Cure.
